![]() ![]() Sri Ahobila Narasimha Temple: This is the main shrine for Ugra Narasimha who is inside a cave with four mandapams. Mars (Sukram) is stated to be worshipping in this shrine. It is also believed that lighting of lamps filled with ghee and worship offered with devotion here, especially in the month of Krithika would result in a life of glory now and liberation thereafter. Worship of Jwala Narasimha is believed to result in the early marriage of the progeny of the devotee. The Lord is Ugra Narasimha who is in a seated position, tearing the Asura (Hiranyakasipu) who is positioned in His lap. Sri Jwala Narasimha Swamy Temple: This shrine is inside a cave with a front mandapam. Sage Narada averred that whoever stays one night in Ahobilam Temple derives the same benefit that accrues to an individual staying in Kasi for a thousand yugas, in Prayag for twenty yugas, and Gaya for a hundred yugas! ![]() ![]() ![]() Acharya Ramanuja and Swami Desika worshipped the Lord here. Thirumangai Alwar had sung in praise of Lord Narasimha with ten Pasurams. Adi Sankara was protected from danger to his life and he glorified the Lord Narasimha by his famous Karavalamba Stotram. It is believed that Chandra (Moon) took to the worship of Sri Karanja Narasimha, Mars to Jwala Narasimha, and so on. ![]()
